Why BTU Sizing Matters
An undersized HVAC unit runs constantly without reaching the target temperature. An oversized unit short-cycles — turns on and off too frequently — which wastes energy, creates humidity problems, and accelerates wear on the compressor. Proper sizing requires a full Manual J load calculation, which accounts for insulation levels, window area and orientation, ceiling height, local climate data, and duct efficiency.
