Are you licensed and insured? +
Yes. Universal Interiors Remodel & Construction is fully licensed and carries liability insurance and workers compensation in Kentucky on every project. We are happy to provide proof of coverage before any work begins.
How do I get a free estimate? +

How long does a typical project take? +
It depends on the scope. A deck build typically takes 3–7 days. A bathroom remodel 1–2 weeks. A sub-floor repair 1–2 weeks. A home addition or basement finish 4–12 weeks. A new home build several months. We provide a clear written timeline before work begins and keep you updated throughout the project.
Do you pull permits and coordinate inspections? +
Yes. For any project that requires a permit — new builds, structural work, electrical rough-in, plumbing, additions, and egress windows — we handle the applications and coordinate inspections with the county building department. You never have to worry about compliance paperwork.
What is your payment process? +
We require a deposit at contract signing to reserve your start date and cover material orders. Progress payments are tied to project milestones, and the final balance is due upon your satisfaction sign-off at project completion. All payment terms are spelled out clearly in your written contract.
Do you work with homeowner insurance for storm damage? +
Yes. We work directly with homeowner insurance adjusters to document damage scope, provide estimates that meet claim requirements, and coordinate the full repair. Can you build or remodel on Nolin Lake or Rough River Lake property? +
Absolutely. Lakefront work is one of our specialties. We've built custom decks with multi-level stair systems to docks, covered porches, full cabin renovations, and new home builds at both Nolin Lake and Rough River Lake. We are familiar with lake-area access challenges and local permitting requirements.
What decking materials do you work with? +
We use quality materials suited to your budget and environment: pressure-treated Southern Yellow Pine framing, and your choice of decking surface — pressure-treated boards, Trex composite, TimberTech, AZEK, or western red cedar. We'll recommend the best option for your location, maintenance preference, and budget during your free estimate.
Can you work on my home while I'm living in it? +
Yes. We take care to minimize disruption, contain dust and debris, and maintain a clean, safe work environment throughout every project. Most of our remodeling work is completed in occupied homes.
